Some breaking news on KI
and other things -
but first to scotch
what I see could quickly become
a rumour -
so I will nip it in the bud
with the facts:
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
Drug Enforcement Administration
21 CFR Parts 1309 and 1310
[Docket No. DEA-257F] RIN 1117-AA93
Changes in the Regulation of Iodine Crystals
and Chemical Mixtures Containing Over 2.2 Percent Iodine
AGENCY: Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Justice.
The government site is:
http://tinyurl.com/3c4js8
What this site basically says is that:
SUMMARY: This rulemaking changes the regulation of the listed chemical
iodine under the chemical regulatory provisions of the Controlled Substances
Act (CSA).
The law / regulation becomes effective
as of August 1st.
Quote from the law / regulation:
"the final rule exempts transactions of up to
one-fluid-ounce (30 ml) of Lugol's Solution."
FORTUNATELY, Shane found in the above document
the following
and I have called Washington and have verified it:
"DEA is aware that the element iodine is a constituent in ... potassium
iodide... sold over- the-counter. Potassium iodide is available for use in
the event of a nuclear incident to protect the thyroid gland of exposed
individuals. .... Note that these iodide compounds are not the subject of
this rulemaking. As such, the regulatory controls of the CSA do not apply to
any of these iodide salts .... Instead, this regulation is limited only to
iodine crystals and chemical mixtures that contain iodine in the form of the
iodine tinctures and iodine solutions described above."
Bottom line:
KI will not be affected (for now).
Lugol's Solution
(which some of our literature recommends)
will be available in only one-fluid-ounce bottles.
Tincture of iodine
(in higher concentrates)
(which we use for infants
and those who are incapacitated)
will be available only from regulated distributors.
There are no restrictions
under the regulations
of possession by the end-user
of higher concentrate iodine solution.
(I called Washington again -
to verify this).
But to find a source -
you will now have to find
a distributor that is regulated
to sell Tincture of Iodine
that is above 2% concentrate.
When I say
that KI will not be affected -
'for now' -
I am looking at the overall picture.
The reason iodine has become regulated
is that Meth Labs discovered how to use
iodine as a substitute for another chemical
that had been regulated
to prevent them from manufacturing meth.
I don't think it will be too hard
to figure out how to separate iodine
from potassium -
so that may well be the next
action / reaction in this scenario.
For that reason -
there is another reason -
to stock up on KI now.
Of course -
in my paradigm -
everyone should have it already.
----------------
Now -
the next big story -
because the one above
almost turned out to be
a non-story.
The ENTERPRISE is on its way!
http://tinyurl.com/36hvkt
Like I said -
I had that beforehand -
from the horse's mouth.
If you don't understand why
that is the BIG story -
then there is no reason
for me to try to explain it.
------------
Equally BIG stories -
if you live in the neighborhood:
a. Syria has moved into Lebanon
and is digging fortifications
b. Syria has opened
for the first time in decades -
the roads heading towards
the Golan Heights
c. Israel is having its largest
practice manoeuvres ever in the Golan Heights.
d. Turkey military is zigging
in and out of Turkestan.
e. Iran is stockpiling gasoline
as rapidly as it can
for military use -
and the civilians have been cut off
almost entirely from petrol supplies.
-----------
If you don't see significance
in those 6 actions
along with the news
in the previous newsletter
about Iranian and Russian missiles
being shipped into Syria -
and the Iranian nuclear standoff -
along with the news today
about North Korea shipping subs to Iran
and the Pakistan President's plane
being fired upon,
then what can I say.
--------------
Okay -
so you don't get that slant
from your MSM -
and what I write about
often just doesn't appear there.
The same can be said about
The Jena Six story
http://tinyurl.com/24f9ko
but I can tell you that
millions of people are reading about that
in other parts of the world.
Here -
like Juneteenth,
it is off the radar.
We are more interested in lecturing
China, Russia, and Cuba
about their civil rights.
Luke 6:41 And why beholdest thou
the mote that is in thy brother's eye,
but perceivest not the beam
that is in thine own eye?
-------------
Sometimes we don't worry enough
about other peoples' freedoms.
How about your freedom to read?
Take a look at this one:

-------------
I do gather such a hodgepodge
of news between newsletters
that it sometimes becomes a mix
between the curious / the interesting
and the important.
But -
it is difficult to tell
what is important and what isn't.
I think KI is important
to many of my readers -
and I think the Enterprise
is BIG news -
and I think the activities around Syria
are VERY significant.
But it is some of these other things
that may play a crucial role also.
For example -
while many people are saying 'ho-hum'
about Bush pardoning
a member of his staff -
others are not.
Why this may be significant
is that it could become political pressure
for Bush to act in Iran -
before the outcry at home
becomes uncontrollable.
Sort of makes the ninth commandment into -
"Thou shall not be punished for lying",
and this especially from an administration that says -
"No whistle blower shall go unpunished".
Yes, the people at higher levels make great sacrifices
in their service,
which is probably why not one Senator has a child in Iraq.
The lower classes from some neighborhoods
have such numbers serving there -
with accompanying casualties
that you can measure it
as a percentage.
When the masses look about
and see how the privileged are treated
before the courts -
they lose faith in the Justice system.
Enough money
and you can often literally
get away with murder.
This then becomes engrained
as a part of the mores of the US society.
We see it in other cultures throughout the world.
The giving and taking of bribes
becomes a way of life.
Money makes right -
becomes the obvious fact of life.
The converse should be true.
That those at the highest levels
should be held to the highest standards -
but we know that they will get off
for that which the poor will go to jail in a blink.
We also know that the amount of time
that the wealthy (and many others)
will spend in prison
is but a fraction of the sentence.
Libby wasn't going to be there that long.
I read many differing views -
but always it seems
that it is Republicans
that support Bush on this
and Democrats that are opposed.
Personally, I think this was a test case.
And a watershed one at that -
just as were
Gone With The Wind -
The Outlaw -
and Lady Chaterly's Lover
for speech.
The purpose of those works was to shock -
and they gained their end.
Now, many movies, rap songs, books -
have the goal of delivering 'a greater shock'.
We have seen the similar changes
in the last years -
regarding the law.
Torture.
Suspension of habeas corpus.
Selection of the president
by five judges appointed by his father.
Disappearing persons.
The list just goes on and on.
People were watching this case.
They saw it as a signal.
They know that no matter what Cheney
or Bush
might be impeached for -
the other would pardon them.
In those stratospheric ranks
no crime gets punished
and no good deed goes unpunished.
The leaders can escape any punishment -
but the lower ranks in society
cannot avoid the bullets and bombs in Iraq.
Lying under oath before the courts
or Congress -
is definitely not a mini-crime,
especially by a high official.
Yet,
the same group that was so uptight about 'is'
can now accept outright lying.
That group that thought
the personal sex habits
of the president
deserved impeachment -
feels now that
the administration lying to them
is normal business.
Bush appointed the ruling judge
because he was 'tough on crime' -
but then he turns around and says -
"but I don't mean my crime".
To some it appears to be
"quid pro quo" -
Libby would remain silent
about crucial details of Cheney's role
in the case
in exchange for a pardon or commutation -
This was not a good omen for the American Society -
no matter how pleased you may have been by it.
Here is what another writer
(Keith Olbermann
Anchor, 'Countdown'
MSNBC July 3, 2007)
had to say:
"Mr. Bush commuted the prison sentence of one of his own staffers.
Did so even before the appeals process was complete; did so without as much
as a courtesy consultation with the Department of Justice; did so despite
what James Madison—at the Constitutional Convention—said about impeaching
any president who pardoned or sheltered those who had committed crimes
“advised by” that president; did so without the slightest concern that even
the most detached of citizens must look at the chain of events and wonder:
To what degree was Mr. Libby told: break the law however you wish—the
President will keep you out of prison?
In that moment, Mr. Bush, you broke that fundamental com-pact between
yourself and the majority of this nation’s citizens—the ones who did not
cast votes for you. In that moment, Mr. Bush, you ceased to be the President
of the United States. In that moment, Mr. Bush, you became merely the
President of a rabid and irresponsible corner of the Republican Party. And
this is too important a time, Sir, to have a commander-in-chief who puts
party over nation."
The question is why?
And more importantly -
what this chain of events
may be leading to.
Some may see them unrelated -
but then again -
maybe not.
Peace and love,
Bruce
