[Arktwo] Immediate calendar

Numerous events are upcoming
that some people will think important -
such as the EU proposal
to be presented to the Security Council -
but no matter what is done there -
it only results in more talk
and can do no otherwise.
Then there is the discussion about
a further nuke test in the works
with North Korea -
but North Korea has already crossed
any and all so called red-lines,
so what difference does that make.
I wonder
if there is a red line with God.
Many people think not -
and say if there were -
then how could there be so many
terrible wars and injustices in the world.
Some people look at the number
that America kills throughout the world
as 'collateral damage'
and the number of innocent souls
killed in the US through abortion -
and wonder if God will ever take revenge.
I have noted a number of dates
of recent -
although I haven't mentioned them.
The last Friday in Ramadan
is always considered significant -
as well as the end of Ramadan
and the first Friday following.
Indeed there was considerable concern
in Israel -
and to reduce tensions -
even Hamas agreed that no one would
carry weapons in the street
on the first weekend -
following Ramadan.
There is a general feeling
among many people
that we are in "end times"
and some people try to determine
God's Destiny -
by looking at the calendar.
In my previous newsletter
I mentioned the thoughts that some have
about the astrologer Nostradamus.
Astrology is the basis of
calendar keeping -
so any calendar predictions
based on time -
are somewhat in the same thread of thought.
Some cultures, religions,
those of a scientific bent,
and people,
such as myself,
are rather strongly opposed
to astrology per se -
but still we do note the arrow of time
and perhaps cycles and patterns
in the thread of events.
Since so much centres about Israel -
later in this newsletter
I am going to share a bit of
'calendar thinking' current in Israel.
But first -
some other current events
that are significant to me.
The USS Enterprise
appeared to be having its goodbye ceremonies
in the Gulf today.
It will still be within aircraft range
for the next five days
and could immediately return -
so while I don't have any firm notification
of departure -
it may be on its way home.
Another current event
that I spoke of for the last couple of weeks-
was a special meeting that takes place
every Sunday morning with the Israeli Cabinet.
One particular subject
of those cabinet meetings
is the threat from Iran.
Particular emphasis was put upon
the meeting coming up a week ago.
Note was taken of it several times
in the press -
in regards to statements from Iran -
the actions that took place in North Korea -
and discussions going on in the Security Council.
Iran had of course increased its threats.
The NK action had shown that the world
was powerless to stop such threats.
And the UN and Security Council talk
showed that nothing was going to occur there -
but talk.
Moreover,
there had been substantial activity
- not to Israel's benefit -
taking place with
Syria regarding the Golan Heights
Hezbollah in Lebanon
Hamas in Gaza
and even tunnelling from Egypt.
It was really anticipated
by the news sources
noting what was then
the upcoming meeting
that some significant action
would be forthcoming.
But nothing.
No announcements of any sort.
It was as if it had not taken place.
Now we know why.
Back on Sept 1st,
I reported to you
that Israel had appointed
Israeli Air Force Maj. Gen. Elyezer Shkedy
to conduct the war with Iran.
What has been lacking
is a cabinet decision.
The Israeli Cabinet
has been a house divided -
and unable to get
its act together.
Sort of like Bush -
and most of the American people.
The amount of intrigue
that I read about -
is beyond my comprehension
but the bottom line is -
that a hardliner
is now coming into cabinet with
"responsibility for 'strategizing'
on the Iranian nuclear threat"
http://tinyurl.com/y7v8gh
"... there is no question as to what our newest incoming minister Avigdor
Lieberman, the man curiously awarded cabinet responsibility for
"strategizing" on the Iranian nuclear threat, would advocate to deter the
ayatollahs. ... He was speaking about bombing Teheran as far back as 2001.
Matching the appointment
of Avigdor Lieberman
is the appointment of a new
Deputy Defense Minister -
Ephraim Sneh,
a former career Brigadier-General.
For those who have been questioning
Olmert's will, ability and intent -
this should answer the question.
---------
"If the central committee does approve Peretz's request, the inclusion of
Yisrael Beiteinu will be brought to a cabinet vote Monday, and immediately
afterward to the Knesset for approval.
[Yisrael Beiteinu
is another way of saying
Lieberman -
because it is his party.]
[Monday.
That is today -
when you will be getting this.
I have been several days
putting this analysis together
and you will not find it elsewhere.]
"Among the Labor leaders supporting the inclusion of Lieberman in the
government is Ephraim Sneh, who is slated to become deputy defense minister
as part of the deal between Amir Peretz and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert."
The above
is not yet a done deal
(except in some people's minds).
Minister of Culture and Sport Ophir Pines, who is leading the opposition to
the inclusion of Yisrael Beiteinu in the coalition, is backed by Arab MKs
and Labor "rebels,"
Opponents to the inclusion of Yisrael Beiteinu in the government coalition
are threatening to disrupt the proceedings of the Labor Central Committee
Sunday night unless their demand for a secret ballot is met.
Prime Minister Olmert
is also under investigation
for monetary fraud -
as was Sharon before him
(and whose son has been sentenced to jail).
Those who take comfort
in such action
thinking that it might prevent
military action by Olmert
and his cabinet -
might also be concerned
that it will prompt them to quick action
before events frustrate their plans.
There is similar concern
on the part of some in the US.
They feel that Bush may be prompted
to action
before the Nov 7th election -
or immediately after
before the new Congress is seated
if he feels that he could receive
overbearing opposition from the Congress.
Indeed,
there are some who feel that
Bush and company have:
· Stolen two presidential elections.
· Exaggerated and falsely characterized the terrorist threat.
· Misled the country into war with Iraq.
· Urged the U.S. intelligence agencies to fix the intelligence around the
Iraq war policy (as confirmed by the Downing Street Memo and other sources)
in order to mislead the Congress and public into supporting war with Iraq.
· Abused human rights by promoting the use of torture and setting up virtual
gulags.
· Suspended habeas corpus for some.

While of course
none of those in such opposition
are neo-Cons
and no neo-Con
would see such actions as being
in anyway deserving of impeachment
as would some other serious crime
such as dalliance with an intern -
still they may harbour the fear
that a newly elected Congressional majority
might arise
that would bear them some ill will.
For these reasons -
political upset
in both Israel and the US
may be as much as an instigation to war -
as the existing policies of the incumbents.
In my view -
all November roads may lead to Rome.
It turns out -
that in the some Jewish thought
November is considered
a very bad month.
Sort of like the Ides of March
in another culture.
November - Chesvan
is also called MarCheshvan
(bitter Cheshvan).
Here are some of the things
that have happened to the Jews
in November:
1938 (66 years ago)
- November 9-10, Kristallnacht
1942 12,000 Jews of Minsk
executed by the Nazis
1941 500 Jews of Kolomyya, Galicia
massacred by the Nazis
1941 15,000 Jews of Rowno, Poland
massacred by the Nazis
1941 27,000 Jews of Riga ghetto
taken for execution
1757 Talmudic volumes burned in Russia
1744 Austrian soldiers killed many Jews in Prague
1648 12,000 Jews massacred by Chmielnicki's forces
1593 Anti-Jewish riots in Bucharest
claimed many Jewish lives
1526 Jews of Pressburg
- expelled by order of Queen Maria
1394 Jews of Paris expelled
1380 Jews killed in riots in Paris
1359 1,000 Jews of Strasbourg burned
and the remainder forcibly baptized
1278 Jews of England imprisoned
and many martyred
1210 Jews of England imprisoned
The Great Flood (Mabul) began Cheshvan 17
I put the first of these
out of order -
and if you do not know
the significance of Crystal Night
and what it was
to the Jews -
then the following will make little sense
to you.
Notice the date!
November 10th.
There is considerable
concern - consternation -
that on the anniversary of
this very date
there is planned in Jerusalem
the GAY PARADE.
The dialogs that I could provide to you
on this subject
have been lengthy and intense -
but space does not allow.
Anyway -
the immediate calendar.
30 Monday - Possible confirmation of Lieberman
31 Tuesday - Halloween
03 Friday - Enterprise may leave vicinity
07 Tuesday - US Congressional Election Day
10 Friday Gay Parade in Jerusalem
11 Saturday Armistice Day
(And a whole nother story
that I have not room to tell)
