[Arktwo] My poetic day

We are exactly one week away
from what I call
'my poetic day'.
I refer it as a poetic day
because of the phrase 'poetic justice'
and it seems to me
that those who support the so called
'Gay Community' parade
are saying -
'In your face - God'.
10, 11, 12
sort of like a Turkey -
or Triple Crown.
10 - The Gay Parade
11 - Armistice Day -
the Commemoration of the War
to end all wars -
could be the end of the world.
12 - Birthday of the Prophet of my religion.
Jerusalem was selected
as the site for the World Gay Parade
just because
it is Jerusalem.
Even better than Sodom or Gomorrah.
Hmmm.
Fire and brimstone
raining from the sky.
Could be.
Some saying -
the parade will be cancelled.
I think not.
More likely the world
will be cancelled.
The Supreme Court of Israel
has said it is to go forward -
so I think -
go forward it will.
Supposed to be 5,000 gays
in the parade.
Half that would still be significant.
2,000 policemen have been scheduled
to keep the peace.
http://tinyurl.com/ydzxlr
The Ultra-Orthodox
have said that they will field
250,000 to break it.
I doubt that they will get
a tenth of that number there.
The ones we haven't heard from yet
are the Muslims.
They call it a "Holy City"
but then also do the
Christians
Jews
and others.
I guess the key is -
God's view.
But that is the issue in contention.
Jerusalem is mentioned 747 times in the Bible.
The Gays mostly say -
that there is no God that takes an interest
in such things -
or that He is on their side
for what they see as justice
and compassion -
and their claim that He created them -
the way that they are -
not that it is a matter of free will.
1:27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God created he him;
male and female created he them.
(Genesis)
This is a statement -
repeated seven times in Genesis alone.
However, others are of a contrary opinion.
Sort of that God created them -
male and female -
plus something sort of in-between.
To arrive at that one has to
either:
a. Not believe in the Bible
b. Interpret it in some new manner
as does the new president
of the Episcopal Church.
http://tinyurl.com/y5fab6
Other congregations in today's news
are wrestling with the same issues.
http://tinyurl.com/yddu8f
Some may be trying to do
God's judgements for Him.
But in any case -
this does promise to be
an interesting week.
Lots of things happening this week.
1. Saddam is going receive judgement this week.
Supposed to be today.
Another one of those things -
good or bad -
depending on which side you are on.
Lots of people taking sides -
in Iraq.
It has sort of closed down Baghdad -
and now I notice even the US media
speaks of the civil war in Iraq.
I have seen comments that the
Baghdad siege may cause
collapse of government in Iraq.
If the tables were reversed
and it was Saddam that had Bush on trial -
you would be surprised to hear
who was being called
the World's Number One Terrorist.
2. Considerable complaint in Israel
that the Israeli government
has made no plans for when
the US leaves Iraq.
http://tinyurl.com/yn7k6n
Could be that neither the Israeli government
nor Bush -
think that the US has any plan to leave,
although over 4,000 are now being killed in Iraq
each month.
So long as it isn't Americans -
the Americans really don't care -
but the fact that a hundred of them are US soldiers
may greatly impact the US election on Tuesday.
3. Numbers of Palestinians (Arabs)
being killed in Gaza also,
with talk that -
activity by Hamas, Israel and Egypt
may bring down present Palestinian government.
Things are also getting nastier in Lebanon -
with Hezbollah making sounds about taking over
and with the UNIFIL forces threatening Israel.
Well -
maybe not really the latter -
but making those kinds of sounds anyway
although it could all be just for the benefit
of the Arabs.
4. Iran and Turkey
both started military exercises
on Thursday. (Not Joint)
The Iranian war games --
codenamed "The Great Prophet 2" --
are due to be carried out till Nov. 11
in the Gulf waters, the Sea of Oman
and 14 provinces of the country.
http://tinyurl.com/yabxn3
This may have delayed departure of the Enterprise
until after 11th.
I can see that the US might want to hang in there
until the exercise was over.
First time that there have been
two major US Carrier Groups
(strike forces)
in the Persian Gulf simultaneously -
with a third
the Iwo Jima strike in the Arabian Sea
and a fourth the Boxer Expeditionary Force
that has teamed up with Canada's contribution
and India's
guided missile destroyer Mysore,
guided missile frigates Beas and Ganga,
replenishment tanker Shakti,
tank landing ship Gharial,
sub-surface killer submarine Shankul,
reconnaissance aircraft and Sea Harrier fighters,
Coast Guard vessel Samar.
http://tinyurl.com/v7sqk
Okay,
so I get confused between
Carrier Groups -
Strike Forces -
and Expeditionary Forces.
Whichever.
It is a lot of ships and sailors.
I have been giving you in recent emails
long lists of the ships -
from the many different countries -
and of the armada that has gathered
in the Mediterranean.
The Indian ships are in my view
just more of the same -
of the world gathering around Jerusalem -
and I don't think it is for a parade.
5. There are many frictions in the Middle East.
Not just Iran and Israel.
Turkey and the Kurds is another
major instability
as are the problems between
Afghanistan / Pakistan
and India.
One must also throw into the mix -
Syria and Egypt.
6. Iran's military demonstration
is causing concern
among other ME countries.
Iran has demonstrated missiles
in the last few days
that can reach any of them
with a nuclear warhead.
Consequently, yesterday,
(according to the London Times)
http://tinyurl.com/yc4n9v
Six Arab states:
Algeria,
Egypt,
Morocco,
Tunisia,
UAE and
Saudi Arabia
announced that they were embarking on programmes
to master atomic technology.
Bush and Olmert
are probably of the opinion
that it will be
everybody and their nuke -
unless they shutdown Iran.
7. This coming Friday
speeches in Mosques
may affect Muslim response to Gay parade.
http://tinyurl.com/ymed3r
"The Islamic Movement has also protested the parade and called for its
cancellation. MK Abbas Zakur (Raam-Taal) asked the mufti of Jerusalem,
Mohammed Hussein, to dedicate Friday's prayer services to opposition to the
parade."
"This [Jerusalem] is a city holy to Muslims; the pride parade here is
unacceptable. Anyone is free to do whatever they want in their own home, but
to have a parade like this in the holy city, is crossing all the red lines,"
"I hope that Muslim believers will act to prevent this parade, for it is a
desecration of something holy," Zakur said.
8. In some ways -
as I reported in the previous newsletter -
the powers in Israel
for striking Iran
have become more solidified.
However,
other things are adding to the instability
in Israel itself -
and these are forces that encourage
wagging the dog
before they get out of hand.
For example:
The President of Israel
is being criminally charged
and has been effectively removed from power.
The wife of the PM of Israel
and the PM himself
are under fraud investigation.
The son of Sharon
has been sentenced to prison for fraud
although charges did not proceed against Sharon
because of his condition.
Similar situations portend
in the US.
Several high ranking Republicans in the US
and close business associates
of the present administration
have been convicted, indicted,
or are under investigation
or suspicion of Fraud.
A change in the political spectrum
could have serious implications
for the present administration -
and would again be incentive
to wag the dog
before the opposition was actually
seated in power.
9. Sharon's passing
would create an Israeli
national day of mourning
and could affect Olmert's trip to the US.
Just one more possible event this week -
and Sharon is almost on a death watch.
10. Taiwan instability greatly increased
because of charges against the President's Wife
What I have listed here -
are just ten peculiarities
to this one particular week.
I find them astounding.
Others may discount them all.
Well,
one thing for sure -
we won't have to wait long
to find out.
I suspect that some anomaly
of which I am unaware -
will be what will really set it all off -
but then -
these are only through my poetic lenses.
Anyhow,
the following is the calendar
I am watching
for the next couple of weeks.
06 Monday - Possible reaction to Saddam's trial
07 Tuesday - US Congressional Election Day
08 Wednesday - Election results analyzed
09 Thursday - Crystal Night took place
68 years ago on the night
between November 9th and 10th.
An anniversary of some
considerable significance
to the Jews.
10 Friday Gay Parade in Jerusalem
and possible Orthodox Jew
and Muslim reaction.
11 Saturday Armistice Day
(My poetic day
and a whole nother story
that I have not room to tell)
End of Prophet II exercise.
