People are asking me
why I am not writing.
Well, I don't know what to say -
other than "I told you so",
and because I have so often
been wrong -
it seems rather unbecoming
to point out when I am right.
When Sharon's stroke prevented the events
that I anticipated in January -
I then picked the middle of July.
And here we are.
On Thursday June 29th
I wrote that we were in a two day lull.
That Israel was set to attack -
but wouldn't for two days
because Egypt asked them not to,
while Egypt tried to negotiate with Hamas
to defuse the crisis.
That was also a deadline date
that was given to Iran
to stop uranium enrichment
and which I said Iran would ignore.
Sunday July 2nd
I said that Hezbollah was now ready to launch attack on Israel's north -
and that Russia said that
the Ukraine had shipped missiles
(and possibly nukes)
to Iran.
I expected then that:
by Monday July 3:
"All hell likely to having broken loose
between Israel and Hamas and Hezbollah."
I expected then that:
"Middle East will continue falling apart with:
a. Civil War in Iraq
(Sunnis feel they are losing
and are therefore getting meaner.)
b. Muslim Brotherhood
demonstrating in Egypt
(and also other groups in
Turkey, Syria and most other
Muslim countries).
Muslim governments losing control.
c. Increasing Civil unrest even in Iran
d. Syrian & Iran support of Hezbollah
e. Lebanon disruption
because of Hezbollah
I said then that:
on Wednesday July 5:
Iran would not accept G-6 (G-8) proposal.
[They were actually given additional time
until July 12th
and still did not accept it.]
I anticipated that as of Thursday July 7:
North Korea would
"continue fooling or fuelling
with its missile."
[In actuality they fired seven
on the 4th of July -
so some things happen sooner
and more intensely than I expect.]
I expected that by Friday July 8:
US would be on much higher alert
and Canada / US Border would close.
###########
So, here we are -
a week later than the expected date
and things have not yet reached such an impasse
that the US / Canadian border has closed.
But,
all in all -
it seems to me
that events are pretty much on track
as I anticipated.
A bit slower -
but moving along.
1. North Korea fired its missiles
and told the world to stick it.
2. Iran ignored the EU and G-8
and continued enriching the Uranium.
3. Israel invaded Gaza
and Hezbollah attacked from the north,
so Israel responded there also.
----------
There were also four major events
that I did not anticipate:
1. Taiwan announced that it was
preparing a missile test
and India made one.
2. Japan announced that it was considering
building nukes and missiles.
[Probably now more than considering -
because it has quit discussing this subject.]
3. The US stiffed Russia at the G-8
regarding the WTO.
[Which Putin did not feel was a
trust-building action
on the part of the US].
4. Israel states that its ship
was struck by an Iranian unmanned
drone, missile, radar guided 'whatever'.
The following is today's news
and below it I list
a couple of sources.
The intelligence official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of
the sensitive nature of the information, said about 100 Iranian soldiers are
in Lebanon and helped fire the Iranian-made, radar-guided C-102 at the ship
that killed one and left three missing.

Now then,
1. It does not make any difference
whether or not it is true
that the 'thing' was fired by Iranians.
2. It does not make any difference
whether or not Israel thinks it is true
that the 'thing' was fired by Iranians.
3. It only makes a difference
that Israel is 'saying'
that the 'thing' was fired by Iranians.
BECAUSE that then becomes justification
for attacking Iran -
which with its uranium enrichment
successful missile tests -
receipt of weapons from the Ukraine and Russia -
are its main concern anyway.

Can we trust Russia? (and Putin)
PRESIDENT BUSH: I will answer the question. I looked the man in the
eye. I found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy. We had a very
good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul; a man deeply
committed to his country and the best interests of his country.

This week Vladimir Putin said:
"I do not trust anyone but myself. We base our actions on objective
information, on our interests and the positions of our partners. This is
objective and serious business."

Yep, if you don't have
complete trust in God -
(and even if you do)
how can you trust
Bush
Putin
The president of Iran
The president of China
The Dear Leader of North Korea
The leaders of Pakistan and India
and those of dozens of other nations.
Something about -
honor among thieves.
At the moment they aren't showing
much trust of each other.
I could share with you
private reports
that I get from individuals
telling me the level of alert
that their military support units
have gone to -
but I won't.
A. They are private reports.
B. They can't be substantiated.
C. No military authority is 'officially' going to say.
Still,
there are numerous reports
that 'surprise' 'surprise'
China has 55 subs
(some nuclear armed)
and has put them out to sea.
That Russian, Israeli, US
nuclear armed subs are on station -
waiting beneath the waves (somewhere).
That the US has put naval forces
into position in the Pacific
the likes of which it hasn't done
in the last ten years.
No,
I don't think any of the countries
have very much trust about each other -
at the moment.
The US key confrontation
is with China and Russia.
The US could easily take care of
Iran and Syria -
if China and Russia would let it.
But -
China wants Iran's Oil
and is making big investments there -
and Russia wants Syria's warm water port -
which it is at this moment dredging out
and preparing to make as the home base
for what is presently its Balkan Fleet,
which the US has inveigled the Ukraine
to shutout of the Black Sea.
Yep,
these guys are all looking
each other in the eye -
just as Kennedy said -
during the Cuban Missile Crises.
"Eyeball to eyeball".
The old Western showdown at noon.
As soon as one guy blinks -
the other's gun comes out of the holster.
Bang.
But that is just Beach's view of the world.
Up at sunrise -
work until sunset.
This week hours spent cutting firewood,
working on the truck entrance,
getting in the bases for the beehives,
putting up fences for the gardens.
Three crews due at 9a.m. Monday.
Weedeaters.
Woodcutters.
Road grader.
Today I hope to load
many bags of manure
and to put in two dozen fence posts.
Busy, busy, busy,
like those centrifuges in Iran,
the Hezbollah missile launchers in Lebanon,
the Israeli artillery crews,
the US Marines heading for Beirut,
the Japanese, Taiwan, Indian, Pakistan engineers,
the target planners at the Pentagon,
the submarine tender coordinators
of a half dozen nations,
the terrorist plotters and planners
throughout the Muslim world.
"Write", they say.
"Recite", you would say -
poetry perhaps -
to the fellow falling past
the 30th floor of the tall building.
Would you have me tell you
how easy things are now -
or how hard I expect them to become?
I have given you my expected date
of August 12th,
and the reason for it.
Others familiar with the Jewish Calendar
have picked August 3rd or 4th
because of Jewish history.
The president of Iran
has picked the 22nd of August
because of Islamic history on the Muslim calendar.
I don't know if
Olmert
Bush or
Putin
are picking a date,
but it all makes no difference
because it will be only when
God permits it to be.
There does, however,
seem to be a momentum to events.
I have never seen such a forward thrust -
even at the time of
the Cuban Missile Crises.
But today -
there is much less fear or concern
than there was then.
Then people felt they stared
Armageddon in the face.
Today,
after so many, many times
crises have been averted -
they simply say -
"Ho hum",
if something does happen -
it will be over there.
No one is knocking on my door.
The hours that my wife and I spend preparing,
until we are too exhausted to do more -
are almost all completely alone.
For most people -
the events that I anticipate
will come to them
unexpected -
unprepared.
To them I am but
a foolish old man.
Eccentric,
is the nice word they use.
Laugh,
laugh,
laugh,
all about me -
directly at me.
On this newsletter -
some people feel and think differently.
But around me -
almost none are sufficiently concerned
to help even a little bit.
Even on this newsletter -
surprisingly few
actually have made -
or are making what I would consider
serious immediate preparations.
So,
should I write or work.
Some say write -
and that is fine -
I will do that -
if they will work
to prepare for themselves.
But mostly,
I am only reciting poetry to the winds.
Each one can see the news.
What can I say -
but other than what I always say -
"Get out of the cities!"
"Get out of the cities!"
"Get out of the cities!"
"The plain is disclosed -
and mankind is sore vexed and fearful."
But still,
most slumber and sleep,
play, toil and weep,
over things they keep,
important only to sheep.
Peace and love,
Bruce
